2026-27 JAMZ DIVISION UPDATE:

New for 2026-27: JAMZ has discontinued Non-Affiliated Competition Cheer. TWO divisions have been added: Youth Independent and Travel Cheer & Dance

Youth Independent: NOT affiliated with a youth football organization; cannot own or lease their own facility/gym.
Wildcats Legacy will compete in the Youth Independent division.

Travel Cheer & Dance: This division is for gyms with multiple teams, practice regularly throughout the week, operate from a
consistent gym location and/or dedicated facility.

The change in divisions is a big benefit to our program as it was difficult to compete against teams that practice on a full-time basis at large gyms.

With Youth Independent being a brand-new division, we do not know what the competition will look like or if there will be teams in our age/level division in this first season. We are monitoring current JAMZ competitions for participation in the Youth Independent division.

Our preliminary plan is to compete at 18U Level 2.
We may adjust this based on the skills of the team and/or to increase the possibility of competition at both regionals and Nationals.

REQUIREMENTS:

High School Age Only

8th graders may be considered on a case by case basis based on experience, skills, and positional needs of the team.

Cheer experience required.

Available for weekend practice. We will strive for weekday only, but a weekend day may be needed periodically.

Ability to travel to Las Vegas for Nationals in January, may require 1-2 days out of school.

Please note: If your high school cheerleader is currently participating on a high school competition team, you MUST check with your Athletic Dept. Most will not allow participation on an outside time concurrently with their program.

Competition cheer WILL NOT interfere with High School Sideline Cheer or STUNT schedules. We will ask for athletes for their high school practice schedule and do our best to create a schedule that works for the entire team.

APPROX. COST:

Registration covers a wide range of fees associated with running this season and the cost will vary depending on the number of athletes on the team. We will do our best to fundraise to help bring this down.

Registration (including uniform): Approx. $600

We will finalize the total season cost once a roster is finalized depending on the amount of athletes participating.

(Travel, hotel, food, spectator fees not included)

Payment Plan available!

UNIFORM:

All Legacy athletes will be required to order a new uniform. Cost is approx. $100 and included in the total registration above.

The uniform will be a 2 piece, rhinestoned skirt and top. Athletes will need to wear black pros or cheer briefs under skirt.
