VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES


In order for Whitney Jr. Wildcats Football & Cheer to operate successfully, it is NECESSARY FOR ALL FAMILIES TO VOLUNTEER!

The following is required of each family:

  • Each participants family is committed to 12 hours volunteer work or a maximum of 20 hours if one family has multiple participants
  • Scholarship families are committed to 20 hours volunteer work to offset the reduction in registration fees 
  • Mascot Cheer families are committed to 8 hours volunteer work
  • Volunteers must be 18 or older

The following volunteer descriptions are for your consideration:

ANNOUNCER: Introduce teams, provide the audience play-by-play commentary of action on the field, announce sponsorship information and provide game-day updates over the public address system.

BBQ/GRILL: BBQ hamburgers, hot dogs and tri-tip for sale at the snack bar.

BOOSTERS: 
Work the merchandise table, help facilitate booster sales and collect payment.

CHAIN GANG: At away games only, three (3) workers will be on the field to operate down marker and chains.

FRONT GATE: Work the front gate table, collect entrance fees and monitor access to the football stadium.

PLAY ALLOTMENT RULE (PAR): Work closely with a volunteer from the opposing team to ensure that all players participate in the minimum number of plays during each game.

SCOREBOARD: Operate the scoreboard and game clock from inside the press box.

SET-UP: Assist the Board with setting up the stadium, field, gate, boosters and snack bar for game-day.

SNACK BAR: Work in the snack bar, help facilitate the sale of food, beverages and collect payment.

TEAR DOWN/CLEAN UP: Assist the Board with tearing down gate, boosters and snack bar. Assist the Board with cleaning up the stadium, field and press box. Help return merchandise to storage.
