FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)


When does the season begin/end?

  • The GAME SCHEDULE runs from August through October and possibly into November
  • The Football season in its entirety runs from July through November
  • The Cheer season in its entirety runs April through November

How many games are in a season?

  • WJW will play at least eight (8) games with one (1) BYE weekend
  • Post season can add an additional three (3) games
  • Cheer will also participate in Cheer Competitions toward the end or after the season

Are there residential restrictions or boundaries in order to play for WJW?

No! WJW maintains a high rate of Rocklin residents in order to utilize Rocklin's facilities but there are no boundary restrictions.

What measures are implemented to ensure the safety of our athletes?

  • Football helmets are reconditioned on an annual basis
  • Football equipment and/or practice equipment are replaced annually
    • The condition of the equipment will dictate the replacement
  • Cheer practice/stunt on mats
  • Cheer practices indoors as the season and/or weather conditions change
  • Trained Medical Staff onsite at each home and away game
  • All Coaches attend mandatory Training/Clinics
  • All Coaches are CPR & 1st Aid Certified
  • All Coaches MUST pass a background check
  • All Board Members MUST pass a background check

When is the last day to register my child for WJW?

  • Football registration remains open through July
    • Conditioning, camp and practice start in mid-to-late July
  • Cheer registration remains open through May
    • Cheer clinic and tryouts are generally in the Spring (late April or early May)
    • To guarantee a placement on a Cheer Squad, Cheerleaders must attend tryouts

Does registration have to be paid in full?

No! Of course WJW will glad accept registration payment in full, however an initial payment/deposit is required as part of registration.

ALL REGISTRATION FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BY THE FIRST PRACTICE IN ORDER FOR YOUR ATHLETE TO PARTICIPATE.  

What are the required volunteer hours?

WJW depends solely on volunteers to make our program successful!

  • Each participants family is committed to 8 hours volunteer work or a maximum of 14 hours if one family has multiple participants
  • Scholarship families are committed to 15 hours volunteer work to offset the reduction in registration fees
  • Mascot Cheer families are committed to 6 hours volunteer work

What are admission prices?

All attendees must pay admission fee, INCLUDING THOSE FULFILLING THEIR VOLUNTEER WORK.

  • General Admission $7.00
  • Seniors (62 years & older) $5.00
  • Military/First Responder $5.00
  • Children/Students ages 13-18 $5.00
  • Children/Students ages 5-12 $5.00
  • Children ages 4 & younger FREE
  • WHS Football/Cheer in Uniform or w/ASB FREE
  • WHS Students w/ASB Card FREE
